Christmas is approaching
Christmas is fast approaching and excitement is building up here in Crawford. We have a countdown started in all three rooms. In the baby room they have a Santa on the door with their countdown. In the toddler room we have chain links and we watch each day as the links get shorter as we take one of each day. The montessori’s have their Santa in the main hall that we are filling in each day with cotton wool to fill up Santa’s beard.
Santa will be arriving in Crawford Childcare in Glanmire on Thursday 18th of December. The toddlers are all excited with Santa coming to visit. The toddlers have been telling us their wish list for Santa. Many toddlers are looking for frozen goodies this Christmas. We even had Tess who would like a hog.
Sarah brought in loads of Christmas surprises in a bag. As she pulled out the tinsel Seamus called it glitter. Aine, Roisin and Lucy made necklaces with the tinsel. Beatriz was fascinated by the bead chain and rattling them on the ground. Luke enjoyed the bells and kept shaking the bells as loud as he could. Aoife even had a fancy new belt with the tinsel around her waist.
To prepare for Christmas in the toddler room we are decorating the room in Christmas wreaths, Rudolf the red nose reindeer, Christmas stocking and we will even be making Santa masks for Santa’s arrival. We are even learning a new song about Santa.
'Santa got stuck up the chimney
And he began to shout
Boys and girls you will get no toys
If you don’t pull me out
My beard is black, there soot in my sack
And my beard is tickly to
Santa got stuck up the chimney
Achoo, achoo, achoo'
