Discovery Room News
It is an exciting few weeks in the Discovery Room as our ECCE year draws to a close. We take this time to reflect on the year that has gone by and look to the future with excitement at all the new adventures that lie ahead.
For some of the children in the Discovery Room at Crawford Childcare they will be transitioning to “big school” in September. The teachers at Crawford Childcare work with the children to make this transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Recently the Discovery Room had a special visitor – Miss Crean, a junior infant teacher from Scoil Chill Ruadhain (Brooklodge National School). Miss Crean shared pictures of the junior infants classroom and chatted about all the different goings on in junior infants. Children in junior infants play with building blocks, sand, engage in colouring and writing to mention but a few.
On June 24th the Discovery Room will celebrate their last day of the ECCE year with a Graduation Ceremony. Preparations for this celebration are well underway at present.
During their time at Crawford Childcare each child has grown in their own unique way and Graduation Day is a time to reflect on this uniqueness, to appreciate the children’s time at Crawford Childcare and to celebrate each child as they are today. Each graduate is moving on to new discoveries and new adventures and they take with them their experiences from Crawford Childcare. We hope we have built a foundation for the love of life-long learning.
We look forward to welcoming the parents of the Graduates to our Graduation Ceremony on June 24th for the children’s performance. As the day will be a busy one, we will have special helpers to help out. These children will join their friends in the celebrations as it is a chance for everyone to say goodbye to their peers and wish them luck as they strike out from Crawford Childcare.
