Adventure Room
With Christmas well and truly over we felt the need to get back into ‘routine’ so we started working on our independence looking at taking on and off our coats and shoes and tidying up the toys. We all helped each other and made sure to tidy up the room before we went outside each day. It took a little time to get into the habit of doing things for ourselves and to be aware that we need to tidy up after playing with the toys or games that we use. Tom’s Dad was very proud to see him putting his own coat on while Emma’s Dad was delighted to see her tidying up. We have improved so much but we will continue to work on it and keep you all posted!
Discovery Room
As temperature dropped last Thursday we were very excited to see snow in Crawford Childcare. Some of the children prepared to go out in the snow by putting on their hats, scarves, coats and gloves before going out and trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues. On Friday the garden was covered in ice and frost so some f the children pretended to go ice skating. We also discovered how ice is made and what happens when the sun shines on it. Parents commented on how much fun the children had in the snow.
Exploring Room
On Tuesday an aerobics ball arrived in the room. It was quickly pumped up and tested to make sure it was safe. Some of the children were fascinated by this big blue ball and couldn’t wait to bounce, kick and through it around. Others were more cautious and decided to leave it alone. It was interesting to see the different reactions to it.
