Outdoor Play at Crawford
At last we have started to experience some warmer weather which means that sometimes we haven’t even needed our coats? Here at Crawford Childcare we have been encouraging and teaching the children how to put on their own sun cream with the help and supervision of the adults. This has been an exciting new task for the children as they are quite proud of their growing independence.
In the adventure room many of the children have also been practicing their roly poly tumbles. Amelie has mastered doing her tumbles, while many of the others still need a little bit of help. With help from Amanda and Danielle some of the children were able to do their tumbles, Aoife then decided to do the wheel barrow and asked for help so someone could lift her legs.
While exploring the outdoors many children have expressed interest in the crates. Eilish likes to pretend the crates are her shells and she often pretends to be a bug hiding under them. Tess, Evelina, Conor and Ryan used the crates to practice jumping off. Others lined up the crates and try to balance on them as they climb on and jump off. The crates have also had a number of different uses. Aoife and Robert used the crates as their cars as they took off on adventures to the beach.
Conor brought in a beach ball recently and many of the children enjoyed playing with it. They had great fun chasing after the ball as it blew around in the wind. Eilish, Chloe, Ella and Roisin all took turns throwing and kicking the ball to each other. Eilish said the wind was so strong that it made the ball roll very fast!
