Pyjama Day 2015
Pyjama Day is something that we love to do here at Crawford Childcare, Glanmire! We do this to help raise funds for worthy causes. This year at Crawford Childcare we held our National Pyjama Day on the 6th of March in aid of Irish Autism Action and it was a great success as together as we raised a whopping 553.01 euro. We would like to say a Big Thank You to everyone that helped support us on National Pyjama Day and that it was great to see so many people pull together and help support this fundraiser. Pyjama Day is a great day when all of the staff, children and sometimes the parents can arrive to Crawford Childcare in their Pyjamas. We love to see everyone getting into the swing of things!
It is great for the staff not to have to wear their uniform and that they can choose funky/ comfortable Pyjamas to wear! There was a great atmosphere at Crawford Childcare as the week of Pyjama Day arrived. The children got very excited about Pyjama Day on the week of it and would discuss amongst each other what Pyjamas they were going to wear. We wrote on all of the children’s day sheets when Pyjama Day was to remind the parents about it but of course the Toddler and Montessori classes were so excited about National Pyjama Day and were talking about it all week so their parents couldn’t forget lol. We had some great Pj’s including dinosaurs, Fireman Sam, bunny rabbits, Minnie and mickey mouse, Elmo, tractors, cars, frozen, football, batman, minions, princesses and lots of colourful Pyjamas. We sent home National Pyjama Day envelopes with all of the children but of course all donations are voluntary and can remain anonymous. The whole crèche was decorated with balloons and the children had a fantastic time playing with them. A donation box was placed in the reception area where there was a table full of refreshments which included tea and coffee for mums and dads.
Our photo shows 2 of our siblings during a visit from an older brother to the baby room to see his sister on pyjama day. We have a number of siblings here and we like to make sure they get to spend time together at snack and play times. The expressions on the children’s faces say it all! All of the siblings are excited and seem very happy when they get to visit and spend time with each other.
