The Latest in Crawford Childcare

There were plenty of tricks and jokes played as we bounded into April in Crawford Childcare Creche, Glanmire. April fool’s day always makes us giggle here. A common trick is to hide on the teachers and it is fun to watch their confused faces as they look for us. Easter is approaching and the children attending the ECCE scheme in our Montessori will be taking a break from Monday 14th April to Friday 25th April 2014 inclusive.

During the break Easter themed camps are planned in our classrooms. The camps will consist of an array of fun activities including egg hunts, nature trails, collage crafts, pin the tail on the bunny and other Easter themed games. If your child is not already booked in to attend over the ECCE break this can be accommodated at a rate of 6 euro per hour – just talk to Cathy or Sarah to arrange.

The Montessori class have been busy making daffodils recently as Spring time continues to be of big interest in our rooms. Daffodils are one of our favourite flowers. The children have been noticing and talking about the many daffodils along the road side on their way into creche and in their own gardens.

The toddlers have been going at a slightly slower pace than usual as they have been moving like snails around the room. We have also been experimenting with colour mixing paints!

The babies have been flapping their arms as wings as they mimick their favourite outside visitors – the birds. We have also been making birds nests and singing:

“Two little birds sitting on the wall
One named Peter and one named Paul
Fly away Peter, fly away Paul
Come back Peter, come back Paul”

Please book your child’s place for Easter camp early to avoid disappointment as although we try to accommodate everybody we are limited to the number of children we take in any classroom by HSE regulations. Hope we all have an Egg-cellent time!
